Mardi Himal trek (5,587 m) is one of the superb and lately explored trekking trails in western part of Nepal. It is one of the climbing peaks in Nepal, from where you will have hosts of mountain vistas. Mardi Himal is a triangular shaped ridge situated at the southern slope of Mt. Fishtail popularly known as fishtail, from where you will see the superb scenes of picturesque Pokhara valley, superb Himalayas namely of Mt. Fishtail known as Mt. Machhapuchre (6,998 m), Mt. Hiunchuli (6,441 m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), and Annapurna Himalaya range. From the route, you will be able to see some 5-world's highest mountain peaks namely of Mt. Annapurna I (8,091 m), Annapurna II (7,937 m) , Mt. Annapurna III (7,555 m), Mt. Annapurna IV (7,525 m), Mt. Annapurna south (7,219 m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Mt. Manaslu (8,163 m), Mt. Nilgiri (7,041 m), Mt. Fishtail also called Machhapuchhare (6,998 m) , Mt. Hiunchuli (6,441 m), Mt. Lamjung Himal (6,986 m) to name a few.
Besides the mountain vistas, you will be mesmerized with the dazzling scenes and sceneries of the incredible landscapes, and also explore natural wonders like rocky and sloppy hills filled with snow, pass through dense rhododendron forest full of flora and fauna, charming settlement of Gurung and Magar ethnic groups. Therefore, you will also be able to explore the unique blend of culture, rituals, and lifestyles of them and enjoy with the local dishes and delicacies and discover yet unexplored features of the area. It is a low altitude trekking, the maximum height you will reach at 4,100 m height. Therefore it is one of the easiest trekking trips in comparison with other trekking destinations in the region. From the high camp which is set up at the 4,100 m, which no doubt is the vantage point for having the most amazing close quarter views of all the mountains located in the region.
Mardi Himala trekking begins with a short flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara and then the trail continues along Suiket Phedi and climbs towards Dhampus, while trekking you will have stunning views of Mt. Machhapuchare (6,997 m) and the Annapurna Mountain ranges, crossing rhododendrons, hemlock and pines and finally the trail takes you to the right in front of Machhapuchare or fishtail and also to the Annapurna South with Mardi Khola river winding its way through the valley thousands of feet below, at Mardi Himal high camp, from where you will have amazing mountain vistas and finally making an excursion all around, you will follow the same way and retrace back to Pokhara and fly back to Kathmandu.
